What Hard Bags fig gen5

What Hardbags if any fit the Gen5.
Apparently the Givi V35's do not fit.

any givi bag called a monokey will fit.  any bag you can hang on a wingrack will fit.  so, basically anything other than PLX bags, like the v35-those are designed to hug the contours on a tube frame that a 5th gen has no space for.

Expensive, but Corbin makes a set too for the 5th gen.

Your garage says a 2005 VFR. That is a 6th gen. You looking for someone else??

I looking at these 30 liter bags from Hepco & Becker with SW Motech racks.

I have the Hepco Becker bags with SW Motech racks on my 2000VFR...Givi Wing Rack with E35 side bags and Givi top box on my '99 VFR...  The Hepco Beckers ans rack work great - you can't go wrong there!

Good catch, The Suzuki Boulevard sold Saturday and Lisa Confiscated the 2005.
I am now on the hunt for another!  I like the looks of the V35 bags but they don't fit the gen 5 and I not so much like the looks of the bike with the other givi's. (no offense to those who have them)
I have my eye on a 2000 Triumph Sprint St with factory hard bags or an early gen 6.
Talk about a sport touring garage  ST1300, VFR800, Triumph Sprint ST
The Triumph would be a spare :)

Well they used to. Openings are kinda small, and the stock mounts are weak. They provide good shade though....

They don't offer them any more? I haven't actually looked in a while, but at $1,800 I'd say they priced themselves right out of the market.

I'm glad everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I've actually been quite happy with mine and think they look much better than the GIVI cases that stick out a great deal more. The GIVI's functionality is probably better, but IMHO, the Corbin's look better.

Yeah the Corbins are definitely love 'em or hate 'em in the styling dept.

The bottom mount on the R bag that mounts to the exhaust broke on me on a trip up north. I ended up duct-taping it to the grab handle to keep it from flopping around until I could find a bolt to go all the way through. Good thing I had the TBR pipe on at that point because the stock pipe fits so tight there wouldn't have been room for that. The reason it broke is because of Corbin's failure to completely weld the nut to the bracket. Spot welds don't cut it on something like that. I have since fixed that myself.

I also had problems with the fit, and threads on some of the upper mounts. Don't know if that's due to Corbin or a PO since the bags were on the bike when I bought it. I had to do a lot of fiddling to get 'em to fit right i.e. line up with the mounting points/seat release, and not rub on the tail cowling. Had to chase the threads on the upper mounts since they were trying to strip. Fortunately I was able to save 'em.

They fit good now, and are plenty secure. I've had 'em packed pretty heavy on bumpy roads with no problems.

Now that you mention it, I had some rubbing problems too. If I took the bags off for good, I'd have to get the tail repainted. They don't seem to rub now, but it almost seems like every time I take the right one off to change the tire it goes back on in a little bit different position. I haven't had any breaking mounts issues though.

I agree here, I have a set that were on the bike when I bought it. I would not have dropped the insane money for them myself, but I think that they are the best looking bags available for the 5G VFR.

They do if you fix Corbin's poorly engineered mounts. In fact when they are lined up right you can pull the tail cowling without removing the bags.

I hated them at first and never use them, but they soon grew on me and I saw the value. Notice the scuff marks from where the previous owner dropped the bike... nothing else was damaged and the bags held sturdy. Unfortunately they don't make them anymore. Sometimes I consider selling them because I will probably tow my bike on on the truck for longer distances.

I ended up with the H&B 30 liter bags and SW Motech racks on my 99.

My 5th gen whit a 3 bag Five star holder that suits Givi and sertan Kappa hard bags. In the pic a Givi 45 up rear and Kappa 44 on the sides.

I bought my Beetle Bags on eBay for $150. They were listed at damaged but really just scratched. Aliitle touch-up paint and I think they look great. I've been ussing them now for 2-3 years and like them. They are very limited in capacity but they don't stick our and I just forget they are there. My riding style is somewhat spirited.

Here are pics of Givi 41 liter MonoKey Keyless bags and rack. I've lived out of these for up to five weeks on the road at a time. Camping and moteling. They ARE large and present a fair amout of windage. However I had them on at triple-digit speeds (purely fictional of course) and they were fine. I do love them.

Yes even with the "mid-sized" E360s, I stand back and wonder how my V4 got so wide. But you can put a metric ton of crap in there.

Mr. Anderson (or anyone else reading this for that matter) if you ever decide to sell your VFR Beetle bags (any color, because I've got a yellow 2000 and there doesn't seem to be any yellow ones available anywhere) I would love to buy them. I always wanted hard bags. But I realized that the Oxford sports panniers work fantastic, are easy to take on and off and suit my needs. I pair those with my Givi E52 topcase, tankbag, and Marsee Zipp tailbag and im good to ride for a week or more. Just my 2 cents......

That's a hell of a deal. I paid $400 for mine and had them re-sprayed. No regrets though. They work very well and with a Cortech topbag for trips you can go for a week/two easily. You can't put a helmet in them, but then again the ass end is still pretty narrow and the lines look great. They come up from time to time...there was a set on VFRW a few weeks back for around $300 if I remember correctly.
