No but they will be nfg since they bolt on the flimsy bracket underneath the panel

I agree with Dutchy, and if anything, they'd be more likely to fark up your fairings. Since they stick out an additional few inches, they increase the leverage on the bolt, which in the event of a crash would torque the bolt (and bracket) and likely crack your fairing in addition to the scuffs and cracks you'd already be sustaining from the crash itself.

Dang. So what are my options? I want to protect the bike from a tip over since it I think the day will come where I will not be able to get OEM plastics anymore. And Chinese plastic kits are non existent from what I can tell.

Ummm, well, remove all the fairing and put them in a storage space and read the following thread.

Then you can ride like the wind with no worries about damaging the stock fairings. Seriously though, try not to worry about crashing the bike and just enjoy the VFR. A good thing to keep with you at all times when riding your bike is a side stand puck to prevent the side stand from sinking in the hot asphalt. Ask me how I know this........... REALLY, go ahead and ask,.............but only if you want to know about what happens after the side stand becomes one with the asphalt.

I agree with Dutchy as well, the crash bungs that attach to the fairing mount may make you feel better, but only until they are required to protect the fairings. Then you may scream. A Lot.

Well my issue is I have 8 motor cycles and I am more concerned if one of them gets tipped over. I have not laid down a bike in 23 years so I am not at all worried about this. Maybe I can ask one of my forum members from a TL site make me up a custom set.

I have a set of the plastic bobbins and yes they are designed for looks more so then protection, but I have dropped the bike on its side and they did work! so for a tip over they work well.

My bike had something like this when I got it.

Without them just would have had some rash. with them it bashed in/broke the ABS.

First big bike + dumb early braking lessons in the wet...

Feel bad now knowing how rare the plastics are, and mine was in pretty nice order when purchased.

They are gone now, to possibly save the other side, heaven forbid...

Hell, I am damned if I do and damned if I don't. I wish we had forum members that made custom parts for our bikes. On my TLR site we have a guy named vandriver that makes all kinds of nice stuff if you do not mind waiting for it.
