Samco Hose Kits For 3Rd & 4Th Vfr 750

Hi, I have been in contact with Richard Murphy Managing Director of Racebikebitz (SAMCO)in the UK and they are willing to add RC36 model VFR's to their product list if he as at 10+ confirmed orders I have also been in contact with a guy in New Zealand who has three people that want kits so we only need 6 more people to make this happen. I have asked Richard to give we a approx' price of the kit if he can. If Richard gets back to me with a price I will post it here.

I think as there are only 2 long, 2 short hose and 2 small bore pipes from the coolant bottle the price will be in around £65-80 I hope.

IIRC, the OEM hoses for the 3rd and 4th gens are getting very hard to find as most likely they are not being made anymore by Honda because of their 10 year limit with their spare parts support....

Plus these aftermatket hoses are usually made from longer lasting (silicone rubber?) materials. But dang, do they have to be in that boy racer, bright blue color??

I would be interested in a set for my 3rd gen. As someone posted earlier, 3rd gen hoses are not being made anymore. I tried a set of 4th gen hoses about 5 years ago but the right hand side doesn't fit very well with the fairing and I did not use it. I ended up buying a used set on ebay.

We would have the price in around 1 week from receiving the hoses.

I think that the price for these kits will be around £70-80 as there are two long shaped, three short straight and two small bore hoses. Which is more hoses than the HON-65 RC24 kit (4) and less than the HON-52 RC30 kit (11) which are £67 and £102 respectively

I am removing my hoses from my 4th Gen this weekend and will send them to Richard. When he gives me a price for the kit I will post it here, on VFRworld & Honda VFR club forums on the same topic

Then all we need is that at lease 5 people place orders and then they will start to manufacture the kit.

Going back to something that was said earlier in this thread about a 4th Gen bottom hose not fitting a 3rd Gen are 3rd and 4th Gen hoses the same or not???? If they are different some one will have to send Richard a full set of hoses as a template and then we would need 5 orders for each model to them to start to make the kits.

Can someone let me know A.S.A.P. If they are the same or not.

Richard has offered me the first kit FOC if I send my standard hoses but if the first 5 people are willing to place orders I will instruct Richard to split that discount between us.

Another question. Is this a one time shot, or will these be in stock for the same price from here on out. I might be tempted to pick up a spare set if this is a one time shot.

As I mentioned on the other site, I'm fairly certain I have the two hoses (top and bottom radiator) with different part numbers from when I dismantled my FL, but I cannot get to them for another couple of weeks. They are spares, so I would be happy to send them to be measured/compared with the 4th gen top and bottom radiator hoses. I should have the expansion tank hoses as well (but those are not custom-formed; they're just custom length). Now, what colour...

Now that we have enough people willing to place orders for 4th Gen kits (3rd Gen still need some more people to get involved and JZH/someone else to send top & bottom rad hoses and measurements of the 2 pipes which connect to the plastic bottle to Richard at Racebikeblitz then that kit should be ok to.

As a estimate we can say any Europe delivery with Royal Mail is £14 and then Rest Of World £18. As sure many of you and guys know the postal services parcels are not tracked until they are delivered and are just a signed for service. This can also take from 5-14 days for delivery.

For the UK £5.50 is our std parcel FedEx charge.

But we can also offer FedEx which is 1-2 day service and fully tracked. We have great rates but each country and area can vary in price so would need to quote individually on this of they can quote themselves on our website. I can set the product up on our site, then give a discount code for which your members can go on, choose colour and delivery options themselves.

Unless someone sends them some 3rd-gen radiator hoses... I was unable to find my spare set, unfortunately, and I'm not in a position to pull the ones off my FP, and won't be any time soon. Sorry, guys.

As JZH cannot find his spare hoses, has anyone got a spare top & bottom rad' hoses and can send them to Richard at Racebikebitz for comparison with my 4th Gen hoses that I sent as template last week. What we know for sure is that the three short hoses are the same on both models and were pretty sure that the long L/H rad' to water pump hose is the same so I don't see any reason for Samco not to be able to sell both kits with only one extra hose required to cover both models. I had expected to hear from Richard yesterday as he emailed me on Wednesday asking what colour hoses I wanted the first "test fit" kit to be, and told me that he would have a price & discount code for VFRD members to use when they order hose kits on Racebikebitz website they will also be able to choose hose colour and postage options at the same time as that is what Richard told me. At the moment I have 8 4th & 4 3rd Gen owners that want kits so we really need some more 3rd Gen owners to get involved to make sure 3rd Gen kits added to Samco product list for you guys and that we get a good discounted price for us all.

I have a spare left side hose for my 3rd gen. Not sure if that will help since the right side is the one that differs between the 3rd and 4th gens.

I believe he said earlier you will NOT get a return on the donor hoses. They are used as templates for all future orders.

Hi All, Seb is correct the donor hoses would not be returned they are kept as templates . Has anyone got access to both models and would be able to give a definitive answer to the question is there any difference in the radiator hoses as there is no point in vfracer750 having to buy a set of hoses off ebay and post them from the USA if none or only one of the hoses is different.

Just a word of warning. When I removed the hoses from my 1994 4th Gen (27k Miles) to send them I found that the two short hoses at the thermostat and the short one at the water pump were in poor condition so it would be worth checking your own.

Now, what colour should I get... :unsure: My FP is currently Pearl pure red R-158P and silver, but I've got a full set of "classic" R-157 Italian red bodywork for it, so what would look best with Italian red? Wheels will stay black, but black hoses would just be too boring. Red is too...well, too much, maybe? Decisions, decisions...

I've already got blue on my yellow (and black) RC46, where it looks great (I think). Blue is kinda the "classic" silicone hose colour, after all. I'll think about it... :cool:

We were told that it would take 4 weeks for the first kits to be made. I expect the 3rd Gen kit to be the same price as the 4th as it has basically the same size of hoses so approx' £85 after discount for standard colours + P&P. If you click on the link for the 4th Gen kit you will get an idea of what it will be like and the colour options & postage cost to your location. I am hoping to convince Richard Murphy the Managing Director of Racebikebitz (Samco) to make the forum members discount permanent as we have given them a lot of orders over the last few weeks with more to come for 3/4th gen and now hopefully 5th Gen as well.

ps. the discount code can be used for any Samco product on their website.

Can someone tell me what the stated timeframe was on getting these in our hands? I thought I read it was 4-6 weeks, but James with Racebikebitz told me NOVEMBER!!!!

Hi fastbroshi, I don't no who James is, I have been dealing directly with Richard Murphy the Managing Director of Racebikebitz and from what he has stated in writing to me we can expect to receive our hoses within 4 weeks from placing an order for a 4th Gen kit. JZH has received the OEM 3rd Gen hoses that he has bought as template's today and is going to post them to Richard tomorrow so we should find out the 3rd Gen kit price which should be similar to the 4th Gen kit in about a week to 10 days and when enough people place pre-orders production will start for them soon after. 5th gen owners are dealing with Richard as well.

Have you placed an order for a 4th Gen kit with Racebikebitz?

My 1994 4th Gen hoses were not in great shape internal when I removed them "and I do change my coolant every year".

I spoke to Richard yesterday, and the 3rd-gen kit is on its way! It should be the same price as the 4th-gen, given that it is the same number of similar-size hoses, but that's not 100% confirmed as yet.

We got the 3rd gen kit in this week for the guy in the UK, we should have a price on these on Monday or Tuesday. I will send over the minute its priced like before and have the link to the website.

With the 4th Gen we made it up to 8 in the end so still a few off but like I said we did go ahead and have the tooling made, I am positive we will sell more once some arrive. If you could please re-post and have a little ask would be appreciated, going forward we will stock them in Red and Blue as this seems to have been the most popular. Around the 8th April it looks like the 1st kits roll off the line. All the tooling is now made and complete just now they are all being hand made in our South Wales UK factory. I will see if I can get a picture of an actual kit being made.

Hi All, As my bike is already stripped to remove the hoses I will post photo's of the fitting process when I receive my kit. I intend to use the original hose clips, a couple of them weren't in good shape so I'll replace them with spares from my stock of bits from bike that I've stripped in the past. As you can all see from Richards email he would like a few more people to order 4th Gen kits to justify his decision to go ahead and start to make the first kits. The 3rd Gen kit will need the same level of support with orders before they will put that kit into production. So when we get the price and discount code please get your orders in A.S.A.P. ps please add your name to the 3rd Gen list if you intend ordering a kit.

Okay, I got the hoses and I've installed them on my '93 FP: They're perfect!

Apologies for the state of the bike--it's been "off the road" on two continents for the past four years or so... :cool:

I was not sent the two short straight hoses that mount within the V, but these are included in the '94-'97 kit for some reason. But they are the same hoses, according to their part numbers. Without them, this kit is slightly cheaper and easier to install (because you don't have to pull the carbs). But Racebikebitz may update the '90-'93 kit to include the extra hoses before they start sellingit--I don't know.

I will ring Bruce at Racebikebitz in the morning regarding the 90-93 3rd Gen kits as when I removed my old hoses the two short hoses from the thermostat

to the coolant pipes in the "V" were not in go shape ie quite perished as was the other short hose.

Well, like I told Richard, not having those two hoses certainly made it easier to install the kit! But, I agree, they're probably due for replacement if the other hoses are due. And I've got to pull the carbs anyway...

Thanks for the news about the kit and again thanks for your time. Just to clarify everything with the kit for you and the rest of the forum users:-

1) We will increase the length of the longer tank overflow by 50mm as you suggested.

2) The kit was originally requested as a 5 piece kit and that is how it has been priced and advertised at present, retail price £72.02+VAT.

3) We have decided to make the kit a full 7 piece set now, with the inclusion of the two short hoses that you need to remove the tank and carbs to get to, this means that the kit has been re-priced at £93.12+VAT.

4) As a gesture of goodwill, if any forum members wish to increase their existing order for the 5 piece kit to a 7 piece kit, then we will offer the additional two hoses for £10.55+VAT, so half the price they should be

5) Unfortunately with over 700 kits now being made, by over 100 skilled hose-builders, we have no ultimate say over the positioning of the logos, sorry.

I had mentioned that the longer of the two hoses/tubes on the overflow tank could stand to be slightly longer, and that the Samco logo on the upper (RH) radiator hose was upside down, when visible through the fairing vent (see third and fourth pics above).

I've just returned from the Isle of Man TT, a trip that was FOC at the expense of A VERY GOOD & RICH FREIND I had 5 hyperbaric chamber sessions which REALLY help with my health issues ( would recommend everyone with any health issues or defiantly a sports injury to give it a go ) I think that JZH as been holding the fort for me and has delete with all the issues. If there is anything else do not hesitate to ask me to help with thing from this side of the pond.

I'm loosely in the market for this stuff, have been following, but just wanted to say - thanks bigb for this, your efforts are a good example of what makes forums like VFRD tick. I mod on a 4x4 forum that has very similar levels of participation, intelligence and rapport as VFRD, so I truly understand the efforts members like you go to when they stump up for efforts like this - a lot more goes on behind the scenes of what makes it into the forum topic :fing02:

I also got the email a few days ago about the 7 piece kit, with the discount price since I paid a month ago. I'm actually switching up hose colors to blue now so he said it would be 3-4 weeks. No worries, the bike is 3rd on the project list at the moment.

I'm considering these hoses for my 5th gen. Their # to $ conversion is a bit wonky though - current exchange is $1.71 to 1#, but their site is more of $2.10 to 1#. Also the image doesn't show the two short hoses for the t-stat.

Anyone order a 5th gen kit?

(oh, and is there a permanent 15% code that I missed?)
