Last 50 of 111- Moving in Oakland Ca, Can I borrow your trailer? I'm not exactly next door I'm in Mariposa but if you want it I'd be happy to lend you my Kendon trailer. I once moved a bike with a u-haul trailer but it was so tight with other stuff the bike could not have moved and…
- Hey D, so what's been happening with you? Which track dose it look like most? Laguna Seca, Assen, Red Bull...
- Your first real road bike? A burgundy 1984 Honda Shadow 500 passed my MC test on this bike and road it for maybe 9 months before moving up to a Yamaha Fazer 700 good memories.
- Best tires for the VFR??? Updated 2011 Just ordered a set of Dunlop Roadsmart 3's. I'm normally a Bridestone man but I'll be lucky if the T31's on it now see 6000 miles.
- White or black wheels on 2014 VFR 800 For me white just won't work (don't want to clean them) but damn those look sexy 🙂
- What did you do to your VFR Today? 5 hours ago, zefram47 Are there any CO-specific VFR groups around and/or groups that get together to ride? https://www.vfrdiscussion.com/index.php?/forums/forum/33-usa-mountain/
- Tankbag magnets I've never had an issue with a magnets not holding and don't give it a thought anymore. I prefer the karate kick method of getting my leg over with a tail bag.
- New Potential Owner; could use some input Have him knock of $250 for tires (stock tires sucked ass) and buy it before it gets away.
- Joe Rocket Jacket So you gloved up to show how the jacket looked? Something fishy going on here. 😉 It dose look real good atop that sexy white bike.
- Joe Rocket Jacket Too bad it dose not come in red to match my VFR 😞 I have 2 mesh jackets so don't need but if it was red a impulse buy may have occurred.
- What did you do to your VFR Today? Picture worth 1000 words I got some oil on the filter before install so was slick as he when installing and couldn't get a good grip. I wiped the tire off as good as I could before heading home but had a good 20 miles…
- What did you do to your VFR Today? So took the VFR out for a ride on Saturday over Sonora and Ebbits passes in California whole trip was 280 miles mostly far from any town or city mostly fun and twisty. 69 miles to go on the way home happen to be in…
- Bike vs. car in the twisties I loved my CRX most fun I ever had on 4 wheels. Should have never sold it. A friends wife took it off my hands after the test ride there was wet spot on the driver's seat, I think she liked it. LOL
- New 5th/6th/8th gen performance header now in production in USA How about a combo of their names to keep it short and simple "The Larryl Header" I guess it sounded better in my head. LOL
- Of Elephants and Chicken Strips and matters VFR My riding has improved mostly because I'm using the VFR more in the twisties and can't use the grunt of the S1000R on it. The VFR forced me to be smoother and carry more speed through the the turn I go into the turn…
- Help me tell her no . . . Ride your 6th gen to the dealer to pick up your part but bring the pink slip with you. Test ride the 8th gen. After that test you will want the 8th gen and having the pink slip with you so you can trade it in will save…
- Say it isn't so! 1 hour ago, Sparkie Awesome. The value of our vfr's just went from nothing to next to nothing. Look, nobody is buying these. You can get 6 year old vfr's that have zero miles on them, for less than half original list…
- Exhaust I love my Danmoto GP Extreme with baffle.[image: danmoto.jpg]
- Wayne Rainey Rides Again! I was just watching this as you posted. "Made me feel young again" the smile on his face is priceless.
- New 5th/6th/8th gen performance header now in production in USA The Abba superbike stand is also an option. [image: abba.jpg]
- Bell RS-2 helmet deal Thanks! Nice to see a a-b comparison. Though I don't have a pressing need for a helmet I'm glad there is an option of the RS-2 going forward. After writing that checked the date on my helmet and will be 5 years old Jan…
- Bell RS-2 helmet deal Sunday looks like gonna be a wonderful day for a ride down there looking forward to report and comparison.
- What is your oil? 22 minutes ago, Marvelicious Extra virgin fresh squeezed unicorn urine for me... nothing else will do. I have a suspicion that the need to avoid the friction modifiers in automotive grade oils has become a non-issue…
- What is your oil? Rotella T6 5-6k miles. IMHO Kind dose not matter change it on time every time and thats all that matters.
- Bell RS-2 helmet deal Hope you find out differently but reviews were not good, among other things very loud. Big fan of RS-1 and was hoping RS-2 was good.
- What did you do to your VFR Today? I didn't go into the valley so avoided the worst part, there was enough traffic that passing people was an exercise in futility and 2 spots where they worked on the road with only one lane so backup of 20-30 cars but…
- What did you do to your VFR Today? Finally used up the tires that came on my 2014. 4444 miles surprised me they lacked feel and grip so much I figured they would last longer must have been less rubber than real tires. Put on a set of Bridgestone T31s…
- LOOK MA!!!! Seb's famous!!! Dude has mad skills.
- Brand new to the VFR world :) Wellcome this is a great forum. If I'm not mistaken you must post a pic of your bike its in the rules somewhere 🙂
- What did you do to your VFR Today? armod, 8/3/2019 at 4:07 PM I didn't notice it until I was getting back on the bike to leave work. They were the factory wheels and I wasn't really a fan of them anyway. Normally I'd say plug it but any excuse to replace…
- What did you do to your VFR Today? Bent, 2 machines the 8th gen is the one that uses a bit of oil. FJ12Ryder, new 2014 got it earlier this year 3700 miles so 700 sense top off and still up to top line on sight glass filter on tight 10-30 oil next change…
- Rhythmic Vibration duc2v4 did the actual work but it goes like this. Put bike on center stand push down on rear to lift front end (this was the extent of my help lol) loosen one side of the triple tree lower one on 1 side I think he also…
- Rhythmic Vibration Have you done a front wheel alignment? It's simple free and takes just a few minutes.
- Rhythmic Vibration After the alinement didn't seem to work then as the tire wore it got better and better. I then put a brand new tire on and problem was solved. IF this is your problem you may not have ruined your tire yet. I'm no expert…
- What did you do to your VFR Today? Not Deluxe but level on Abba superbike stand.
- Rhythmic Vibration My 6th gen had a similar issue though also just shaked over 80 mph. Mine turned out to be front wheel alignment. Once aligned slowly went away as tire was by then worn by issue. Put a new tire on and no more shake or…
- What did you do to your VFR Today? Planing a 350 mile ride tomorrow so lubed chain and checked oil, second time in 2500 miles (3000 total) I had to add oil as was just below the sight glass. My S1000R with 35000 miles never needs to add oil. Don't think…
- Bay Area Roll Call ride June 22 Nice riding and meeting you all had .great time. Here is some video watch as little or as much as you can stand I hate editing but it is what it is lol
- Bay Area Roll Call ride June 22 Just looked up the the Junction as I'm the noob and never been. Looks like my kind of place burgers look tasty. I'll miss the first 2 hrs of the ride but figure I won't miss the best part. 😉
- Tires on sale?? Its riding season no need for sales if you need them your gonna buy no matter the price.
- charging at 3.50
- Should I buy? Seems like that's about as good as your gonna do on the west coast. Couple months ago there were a couple in Wa for $1000 less than that. Seems Honda is starting to get near the end of supply. The 8th gen is much better…
- Bay Area Roll Call ride June 22 Think I'll join you though coming from Mariposa thinking of meeting up where you get on 580. As it will take 3 hours to get home from the finnish doing the whole thing would be a long time in the saddle.
- Just about to hit 30,000kms on my RWB VFR 25th I've been told and it seems so that the stator is good for 50000 miles give or take before its baked to failure. Absent electric problems why would you pull the stator cover off with less than 19000 miles on the bike?
- The dreaded valve adjustment Not sure if a VFR engine is up to the task but a S1000RR will power a small plane just fine. https://www.rideapart.com/articles/348593/ultralight-bmw-s1000rr-engine-plane/
- Bike took a big hit Better a hole in the bike than you or a shadered foot. Sounds like the side of the road was as scary as hitting the object. All well that ends well.
- Secondary "kill" switch Your switch may or may not work in a given situation but have it will not stop somebody tossing you bike in a van and stripping it for parts. Park it where it is safe or put the biggest chain you can on it if you want…
- Gear selector indicator... First time it happened to me I pulled over to try to figure out what the bike was telling me. Turned it off and restarted the bike and figured it out.
- Dodging exploding tractor trailer tires It's not the rubber that does the decapitation but the 5lbs of rubber that knocks you off your bike and the F150 that runs over your head that does the decapitation. LOL
- Dodging exploding tractor trailer tires Episode 80: Big Rig Myths An exploding big rig tire can decapitate a person: confirmed http://kwc.org/mythbusters/2007/06/episode_80_big_rig_myths.html
