I have an older 2Bros high mount. They no longer make this style, so if I were purchasing one today it would be a Staintune. Don't know for a fact, but I would guess they sound very similar . . .

As far as low mount goes, I think the brushed stainless Yoshimura RS3 I have looks good. No tacky decals.

I gotta say, the best looking exhaust on a 5th gen is a 6th gens!

Not the best photos, but you get the idea. Its a scorpion can with a custom link pipe. I may be replacing it with a carbon akra from my MT09.

looks great, all you need is a Sebspeed clear clutch cover!

Part way through changing the headlight, COP conversion and custom rad. That's enough for now.

Although I had a clear clutch cover on my old gsxr 711 about 10 years ago. They are definately something special.

You're right, it sounds great without the db killer, it sounds pretty good with it too. Much better than the Carbon Can Co one I had on it previously.

The green is too dark for BRG, and is metallic. Looks great in direct sunlight. Honda calls it G161 Pearl conifer green. It was used on UK/Europe 800s only in 2000.

People from Scotland are Scots - single T - unless it is a surname, as in Scottoiler. Braveheart is somewhat romanticised and is not accurate history. Remember the recent poll for independence gave a 55% vote against - the Yes side makes a lot of noise that is not fully representative. The UK's impending General Election is heating up nicely!

- and I ain't one! See my label - a sassenach is someone not of Highland origin - typically in Scotland an English person, like me. Mind you, I've been here over 40 years!

I have Delkevic on the ST, nice sound of the V4 but it ain't no VFR :goofy:

Delkevics are a great economical choice for the VFR. Had one for my 5th and is was fine. Two Bros sounded better, but there was nothing wrong with the Delkevic.

I've got a MIG high mount. Sound's good!

Just about finished doing all Stainless Steel Motad pipes that I didn't know were there, bought all new gaskets, clamps etc and will be fitting that next week. Hope to have the bike running soon :-)

I'm running a Pirelli Diablo 150 / 60 18" rear. Was the last one in existence from what I gather.

Ive got the HRC dog bones and linkages which alters the look of the bike over stock model.

I guess it's just the pic making it look big, because that is the normal size tire. I have a VFR750 rear wheel on mine, so maybe I'm just not used to the OEM look!

I'll be the jerk that resurrects this thread. How loud are the Yoshimura RS3 cans? I have a D&D right now and its a tad too loud. They are fine on my RC51 but too much to ride everyday to work on and tour.

Mine has a carbon fiber Micron low mount on it. The Beetle Bags makes it hard to see, although you can hear it just fine. :goofy:

My girlfriend's with a carbon fiber D&D. The previous owner made the high mount connection pipe. This pipe sounds way better than I thought it would. I had only heard stainless steel D&D's in the past and I thought they were obnoxious.

Depending on what you use for bags, some still work with the high mounts.

How loud is kinda subjective, but if you dig i know i posted some db #s on my yoshi that you might be able to compare. If the d&d has lot of miles have you tried to repack? IMO glass packing seems quieter that steel wool.

My Yoshi is not very loud.

Anyone fitted a Supertrapp silencer.....now apparently called an "Extremeblaster Xb08"? I noticed this vid the other day and, while it's not the prettiest pipe, it does sound nice IMO. If I can find a cheap enough pre-owned example, I may give it a shot:-

It's not very common, in fact I don't think I've ever seen or heard of anyone running a Supertrapp on a VFR800 before.  Doesn't sound too raspy, either.  I used to have a set of four Supertrapps trying to quiet down the 327 Chevy in my old Porsche 914.  They helped, but certainly "quiet" was never going to happen...

Actually, I've been running a 4" short Supertrapp for many years.  Listen from about 1:30 on.

Now running the Xtremeblaster, which is not manufactured by Supertrapp.  Supertrapp owns Jardine, FPs, others.

I remain very happy with my Delkevic can. I've had it over 6 months now.

Used in all weather, every day. No signs of rust or tarnishing. Welding has held perfectly, carbon fibre as new. I keep it all pretty clean anyway.

It's throaty, but not so loud as to annoy the neighbours before 9am when i go to work. But it IS loud enough to make pedestrians look (so i don't spread them across the road) and is great for quick revs at the lights to get drivers looking up from their phones so *I* don't get spread across the road.

I don't have the baffle/DB killer in, but the sound is gentle but throaty under 4k revs, aggressive between 5 and 7, and down-right brutal over that. Perfect.

I can HIGHLY recommend the Delkevic 350mm Carbon high-mount. Part number: KIT2668 (in case the link fails as the site is a bit slow) - Come with can, link pipe, bracket and sealant. I chose to make my own bracket which was much further back than the supplied item as it was practically sitting on the link pipe, and didn't inspire confidence that i'd keep it on the bike.
