Last 50 of 59- K&N Oil Filter Recall - KN-204 Why in gods name would they rivet it on? it's like they are trying to find the dumbest way of doing things
- Too much oil pressure? Flawed design? The 99psi is when the oil pressure relieve valve opens. There was a thread years ago where someone slapped a digital oil pressure gauge on their bike and it peaked at 99 psi from 8-9k rpm to redline
- Too much oil pressure? Flawed design? Our bikes top out at 99 psi oil pressure, only one filter seems to have trouble handling it and it's shameful.
- How old are VFR owners? Looks like I need to go buy a Suzuki squidster :goofy:
- How old are VFR owners? Seems I'm too young to vfr, may have to trade it for a Duc for a few decades :goofy:
- Slip On ? Dont see many following that rule, or enforcing it. but most people only pass on the right if the twit in left lane cant take a hint
- 6th Gen Brake Caliper Overhaul - pistons? Most of the time you wont need to replace the pistons. However if they are rusty/ pitted/ scratched on the sealing surfaces then its new piston time because that damage will ruin your new seals.
- Is this normal for a spark plug? Im bad at wrapping up loose ends but after cleaning the plugs and reinstalling them the bike runs great. I can only assume that a plug or HT wire loosened causing it to run roughly. (embarrassing) I dont think the NOS…
- Clutch Window/Clear Cover VFRD Promo Special 2016 For the love of bump
- Poll: VFR Rider Ages I'm 29 and have been viffing since I was 26. Way better than the 600 katana I started with lol
- Halfway there Well anything but flat black is a chore
- Is this normal for a spark plug? 3 hours ago, Knight To clarify, did you use an additive? Is this the very first time using it on this bike? Did you use it to potentially help with the vibrations or that is coincidental? (Just curious.) Have you used…
- Is this normal for a spark plug? Well that explains the color but the vibrations started before the additive. Plugs have been cleaned and bike is being reassembled for a test ride. I was really hoping to find a wet/ burnt plug for an obvious problem to…
- Is this normal for a spark plug? I changed my plugs in my 5th gen, for the first thousandish miles it was smooth as silk. Then cruising on the interstate it suddenly developed engine vibrations like it was missing but I wasn't down on power. Today I…
- Clutch Window/Clear Cover VFRD Promo Special 2016 Im interested.
- Pure Gas Is The Bomb! All E0 does for me is make my wallet 30% lighter per tank and a negligible 1-2 mpg
- Copper or Iridium sparkplugs in 5th gen? I put iridium plugs in 42,000 trouble free miles ago and they still look great
- The Official Oil Thread Its fine to switch back and forth. If you want to try full synthetic go for it, if you don't like how it shifts or can't justify the cost you can switch back at any time.
- Coolant Flush - 5Th Gen I did when I tried engine ice because you have to completely remove the old stuff but since switching back to normal coolant I havent bothered. It holds enough in the block to throw off a 50/50 premix, dont remember the…
- Is It Irresponsible To Ride A Motorcycle As A Parent? It's only irresponsible if you are using your kids as frame sliders
- $9K 6Th Gen? SCOTTS S.S. MESH ALUMINUM HOUSING OIL FILTER. Well that killed $6000 of its value for me.
- Adding A Lower Radiator To A Gen6 do you think that without the fan it would fit with stock headers?
- Flushing Coolant System Prestone Radiator Flush + Cleaner is what I used my first coolant change for peace of mind as I had no maintenance records. Dont know if you can get that stuff locally.
- 15Mpg? Omg...fml Nothing seems wrong. If you can make some time take a day trip in the country and see if you get a more " normal" tank range. If its still crap you have a problem to hunt
- Slipping Into Neutral Under Acceleration Can't check them without splitting the engine. A factory pro shift star kit can help minimize the chance of it popping out because of a light shift. Mostly from the stronger detent spring. But if you're shifting firm…
- Slipping Into Neutral Under Acceleration Slipping into neutral under acceleration can be caused by the gear selector fork being bent or flexing causing the dog clutches to not fully engage and then slip into neutral. Or the dogs being worn. Or insufficient…

- Any interest in sharing oil testing data? well that would help if we where having wear around that valve seats
- Any interest in sharing oil testing data? My report, not the greatest news but its the facts. I think the the excess wear is from either some missed shifts and/or when I changed the air filter. Blackstone Oil Report 10_03_2014.pdf
